Geisha Sushi Bistro

Geisha Sushi Bistro, located at 111 Tchoupitoulas St, New Orleans, LA 70130, offers a unique dining experience just outside the busy French Quarter. This cozy bistro is perfect for those seeking an authentic Japanese meal in a relaxed environment. The restaurant’s ambiance is clean and inviting, with plenty of seating to accommodate guests. Whether you're visiting for lunch or dinner, you’re in for a delightful experience.

One standout dish that guests rave about is the ramen, which is prepared with care and attention to detail, offering a rich and flavorful broth that stands out among local options. The sushi is another highlight, with fresh ingredients that showcase the restaurant’s commitment to quality. However, there was a slight issue with one of the rolls, where the advertised crab leg meat wasn't quite what was expected. The management was understanding, offering a replacement and taking the dish off the bill, demonstrating their excellent customer service.

The service at Geisha Sushi Bistro is known for being attentive and friendly. Many guests have praised the staff, particularly a server named Isa, who went the extra mile by sharing cultural insights and making customers feel at home. This personal touch adds a warm atmosphere to the dining experience.

For those looking to try something a bit different, the King Cake Roll is a must-try. It’s an inventive sushi creation featuring tuna, shrimp tempura, and cream cheese, drizzled with eel sauce-an adventurous yet satisfying dish that blends classic Japanese flavors with a fun, New Orleans twist.

Whether you're a local or just visiting, Geisha Sushi Bistro offers a great spot to enjoy fresh sushi, hearty ramen, and a welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant provides a peaceful respite from the usual tourist crowds, making it an excellent choice for a quiet meal or a special occasion.

This is a great low key spot just outside of the main bustle of the French quarter. If you like ramen, I recommend trying theirs it's very nicely done.

Our sever Isa was very pleasant and attentive. She also talked with my wife and I somethings we had in common. She was open and also gave us a little history about her culture thank you . So, the food was fresh. But the only thing we didn't like was that on the menu it states crableg meat for one of the sushi rolls we got but it wasn't the real deal. We had to send it back and the manager was nice about it and took it off our bill. This place had plenty of seats and it's nice and clean inside. I wish I would've tried the lychee cocktail. If I'm ever in New Orleans again I will definitely stop by again.

A rare treat and find. Service was spot on during my lunch my lunch visit to this quiet little spot. The tuna was well seasoned and fresh. I did the most Mardi Gras tourist thing I could do and ordered the king cake roll- tuna, shrimp tempura, and cream cheese with eel sauce. Lovely experience!

Our Christmas Day meal from Geisha Sushi Bistro in New Orleans was a journey through familiar Japanese flavors. The miso soup started our meal on a traditional note, embodying the classic warmth and simplicity we love in Japanese cuisine. The grilled salmon salad, though slightly overcooked which led to a drier texture, was lifted by the zesty citrus ginger dressing. It was a refreshing component to our array of dishes. For the mains, the beef yaki udon - a stir-fried noodle dish - was a delightful mix of flavors and textures. The noodles were well-cooked, and the beef added a satisfying richness to the dish. In contrast, the chicken udon was a comforting soup noodle dish, brimming with a flavorful broth, tender chicken, vegetables, and mushrooms, offering a heartwarming experience. We also tried the Spring Love roll, a typical representation of what you'd expect in a Japanese sushi roll. It was well-prepared, though not particularly standout. Overall, the meal from Geisha Sushi Bistro was a solid choice for a holiday dining experience. While not exceptional, the food was reliably good. The fact that they were open on Christmas Day added to our appreciation. It's a 4-star recommendation for anyone in New Orleans looking for dependable Japanese cuisine.

My family and I came here three times during our trip due to how close it was to our hotel and the fact that it was open during a major holiday. In terms of reliability and consistency, Geisha Sushi Bistro definitely did really well. Their menu is pretty diverse, but they excelled in pretty much every part of their menu from the hot dishes to the raw ones as well. The service was pretty good. We had three different servers every time and they were pretty friendly and polite every single time. The food came out at varying speeds each time, but we weren't waiting for too long for any one visit. There was a time they seemed to forget one of the handrolls we ordered, but they were pretty quick about remedying that. One server was even kind enough to tell us that the soy sauce on the table wasn't low-sodium and offered to get us a different bottle. We didn't ask, but the fact that it was unprompted was super nice. The food quality was pretty decent. The fish was a little pricier than I would expect for the quality we got, but it was tasty and each roll was well-made nonetheless. Their calamari is super unique in shape I think as I've never had it in long, thick strands like how they serve. The hamachi appetizer honestly wasn't worth the wait in my opinion, but everything else (udon, sushi entrees, rice plates) were all very delicious and large in portion. Overall, I'd recommend this as a spot if you're craving decent sushi or overall Japanese food and would like attentive, kind service as well. The price was a little high, but given it seems to be the only sushi place in the immediate proximity, it was a great place to frequent and try several times throughout our trip!
